Floor structures.

Currently fire protection relies on using gypsum board layers under the floors (i.e. the ceilings) to protect from fire below. However, this doesn’t protect from a fire on the surface of the floor.

By using Zeroignition-protected solid joists and i-joists, wood and wood panel flooring, and glass, foam and cellulosic insulation – strong, lightweight, structural flooring can be designed with very high levels of fire resistance. In some cases, this can remove the need for mineral board on the underside, further reducing structural loading cost and on-site handling and installation issues.
